Jeanne Screen is an experienced New Jersey attorney, who is now dedicated solely to the practice of Family Law.
After college, Ms. Screen worked in the corporate world at AT&T for ten years. While working full-time at AT&T, she attended law school in the evening, graduating 9th in her class, cum laude, and receiving the American Jurisprudence Award Family Law and Conflicts of Law.
At the start of her legal career, Ms. Screen completed a judicial law clerkship with the Honorable Thomas F. Shebell, Jr., P.J.A.D., a former presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. From there, Ms. Screen accepted a position as a staff attorney with the New Jersey Judiciary, Central Appellate Research section, where she worked on complex cases pending before the Appellate Division. She worked there for seven years and focused on Family Law cases. Ms. Screen then became a Deputy Attorney General at the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, Appellate Bureau, where she spent thirteen years representing the State in criminal appeals and appeared numerous times before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division. During her tenure there, she received the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Litigation. She served as a panelist on Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on criminal sentencing.
After twenty years, Ms. Screen retired from State service in order to spend more time with her then-young children. She kept her legal skills current by working as a pool attorney for the Office of the Public Defender, Parental Representation Unit, representing parents in cases involving child abuse/neglect and termination of parental rights. With her children now in high school, Ms. Screen is returning to the full-time practice of law, concentrating on all aspects of Family Law.
Ms. Screen is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1992), Pennsylvania (1992, inactive), the United States Supreme Court (2006), the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit (2005), and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1992).
